Support Groups for Parents of Patients with Eating Disorders

Support and coaching groups are now available for parents of patients with eating disorders.  These groups focus on educating parents about eating disorders and helping them build the skills they need to manage their children's ED behaviors and to help their children to move toward recovery.   These groups and their work are based on the "Maudsley method" for family-based treatment of eating disorders, developed at the Maudsley Psychiatric Hospital of the University of London, UK and used in many treatment programs around the world.

Each group meets for 10 weeks,  Prior to the start of the group, parents are encouraged to attend a 90-minute FREE seminar where they will learn about family-based ED treatment.  This seminar is an opportunity to connect with other parents experiencing similar situations and to help you decide if this approach is right for your family.

Registration is required, and space is limited.  For dates and times of group meetings, more information, or to register, call Rhonda Overberger, LPC, LMFT, or Cate Jarvis, LLPC, LLMFT, at (269) 341-9629.
